Nikko Kali Plastic artist
Nikko Kali.jpg

Visual artist, sculptor and ceramist, Nikko Kali was born in Brazil where he spent his childhood, cradled by classical music, the artistic environment from which his two parents came. After studying economics and the French language, passionate about the arts and precious stones, he decided to continue his training in France. In 1990, he obtained a master's degree in gemology at the Institut National de Gemmologie and a bachelor's degree in art history at the National Museum of Natural History, in Paris. To complete his career, he took courses in color technique at the University of Hampton in London. This color lover (without whom he cannot live), uses only pure pigments which he extracts by grinding precious stones and other minerals. His work on the overlapping of materials, his technique of colors, his study of symbolism, the integration of ancient cultures in his works, make him a unique artist. "The Amazon rainforest, the highlands, the stars, the moon, the sun, the desert and the song of birds are for me the basis of everything I do, as well as the sound of silence." Nikko Kali has exhibited in Brazil, Japan, China, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Singapore, France… Nikko Kali exhibits regularly at Espace Mandara.
